Low Protein Sugar Cookies

Get your cookie cutter ready because this is the recipe for you! Roll it out and make fun shapes and letters to celebrate just about anything from learning the alphabet to low protein cookies for Christmas, Hannukah, or Valentine’s Day.


  • 2 cups Loprofin Baking Mix
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • About 3 Tbsp water (add more if needed)
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla essence


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Add baking mix and baking powder to a bowl and sift into melted magarine (a few seconds in the microwave should do the trick). Sift until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Next, add in sugar, vanilla and water and mix until it forms a soft dough.
  4. If you want to make cookie shapes, roll dough out on a floured surface (leftover baking mix works well) until about 3/4 inch thick. Use holiday cookie cutters to make shapes. Sprinkle on additional sugar if desired.
  5. If you want to make short-bread biscuits, roll into small (1 inch) balls and flatten. Sprinkle with additional sugar if needed.
  6. Put cookies on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 400°F for 15 minutes. Allow to cool and then decorate as desired!
